This is not ordinary accommodation. It’s a truly local experience with a local family. They welcomed us with a smile and they let us feel like part of the family. Facilities are basic but there are all the essentials: WiFi working well, comfy bed, (we had a private) bathroom with running water on toilet and a (cold) shower, a tasty meal prepared by the family. They speak good English and even the daughters do! The location is a bit outside the centre of the town and on a hill, but we liked walking around cheered by locals to watch the village life going on. We would definitely go back again. Paul and his staff are wonderful hosts who took really good care of us. he organized a boat trip to the 17 Islands and also provided us with a simple, but tasty dinner. The rooms are clean, aircon works well, and there is plenty of privacy if you want it but also opportunity to chat to the other travelers staying here. The garden is also cute!

The sunrise hiking was more than great, the dinner with the family and other guests too.I also liked breakfast... Nice views from both balconies.. I liked the location and the fact that the Homestay is not inside Ruteng which is not so beautiful.After all you can walk a little or take a taxi for a fair price if you want to visit the city..

Great place to stay if you want to get a little bit out of town. The property was very clean and brand new mattress and pillows. Great shower pressure. They have scooters on the property to rent at a good price. Very friendly staff.

We enjoyed spending time with jecky’s family, eating delicious home cooked meals, seeing Komodos (of which there are many behind the village), trekking in the national park, swimming with mantas, hiking Padar…the list goes on! Even just sitting on the balcony and watching the fishing boats or the resident dugong play with a sea turtle is a great way to pass the time. Jecky is a great host and has great English. You can arrange/discuss all your travels and activities with him via WhatsApp prior. And his wife is a great cook! This is a unique opportunity you will be lucky to have. It’s a homestay (not some bland hotel experience) so come ready for adventure.
