Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.

I love Sanur and will definitely return plus it's a great base to travel from. There's a 6k walkway which is full of resorts, shops and restaurants offering all types of food and drink options from local cheap eats to more expensive dining. You can hire deckchairs, bikes, get a massage, by a sarong plus it suits families and oldies without the noisy party goers. You can catch ferries from the far end, over to the islands. Also the new ICON shopping mall is opening soon, which I'm not sure is good or bad for the locals. The good thing too, walking along the walkway, is that it's mostly under the shade of beautiful trees and with the sea breeze, it's nice and cool.

Sanur was great. Relaxed, a little quieter than Legian.
Sanur was great. Relaxed, a little quieter than Legian. Lots of restaurants, good shopping and the beaches are much nicer. There is a walking track along the beach for runners, walkers and bike riders. You don't get hassled as much on this side of the island. Will definitely come back.

Its a place for retirees-its like countryside -night time my Indonesian friends really did not like -we moved to Legion after two nights -I wont go in to the specifics of what old guy at Sanur Lodge said to my Indonesian friends when we checked in -but he is lucky I did not understand -it offended them deeply . We tried to go to an Indian Restaurant down the street from Hotel -had open kitchen food looked great but a 1.5 hour wait ? at 7.30pm -they told us had 200 gofood orders to deal with first-probably true? My kind advice avoid Sanur

If you want somewhere to go to just relax this is the place.
If you want somewhere to go to just relax this is the place. Sanur is a quiet chilled area but you can still easily organise tours from there. There are plenty of places to eat or sit to have a drink or a coffee, and you can go into Kuta, Canggu or Legian for some nightlife clubbing.

Sanur is one of the quieter beaches in Bali.
Sanur is one of the quieter beaches in Bali. The tide goes a long way, so sometimes it is unsuitable for swimming. It is a good place to paddleboard. There are many restaurants and bars along the beach. I have noticed many families, so I assume it is a good place for people to travel with children. There is a long walking/cycling path along the beach.

The perfect location in Bali.
The perfect location in Bali. Not as hectic as the east coast(Kuta to Canggu)more of a village atmosphere but still has all of the amenities. Lots of great quality inexpensive restaurants both on the beach and on Jalan Danau Tanblingan. A few cheeky nightclubs with live music.
Good shopping, massages, 6km paved walking path along the beach.
Ideal for a great relaxing holiday for couples and families.
Huge green territory, amazing spa zone, exceptional gym interior. Loved yoga classes and I was alone registered - so I had private session with trainer.
Great location - beachfront with calm promenade, hotel provides free bikes so you can go anywhere easily.
Cute balinese style and design of facilities.
Wonderful breakfast - during 6 nights stay didn’t had capacity to try all they have to offer.
Loved Pizzeria restaurant in the resort, they make great pizzas and pasta, live music shows in the evenings.
We travelled as two couples and had the two bedroom villa with private pool. It was fantastic -spacious and clean.
Each morning the staff cooked us breakfast (at whatever time we asked for) in our own villa. The breakfast included choices of eggs and bacon with fresh fruits, juice, bread/toast, croissants and tea/coffee * or of the above.
We were a short stroll to shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes walk (through one of the other hotels) to Sanur Beach and LOTS more shops and restaurants.
This is a beautiful old hotel, representing value for money. Great location , with a 5 min stroll to main street Sanur and yet extremely quiet. Typical old style Balinese gardens and a great pool. It's not modern and facilities are a little dated....but if you want a place that is welcoming( staff are awesome) and feels like you belong from day one, then book here. I'm a little biased...I've been here 6x times ( been coming to Bali for 40 years, so have been all over the island)
Adi the host was excellent. A smooth transition from the airport to hotel and the unit was spacious and clean. Adi also organised our forward trip to an island with no hesitation & was responsive to messages and special requests.
The location was a short walk to the main beach and there were plenty of eateries and shops for general supplies close by.
The private pool was also a welcome relief.
Highly recommended Adi and Villa Ngetis for your next trip to Sanur, Bali.
Everything, we were greeted by the lovely Darmi, she made us welcome from the minute we arrived. The staff are all very friendly, professional, and accommodating. The hotel is kept to a very high standard, the location is perfect . I can't stress enough to have a stay here . Thankfully we chose this as our last stay after touring Bali and Gilli Islands . Sanur it self is a great place with a nice vibe .
lovely friendly atmosphere, basic but huge hotel room and certainly fit for purpose. Balcony was big! Loose tap in one basin but there were two so all good! AC worked well and beds were clean and comfy. Breakfast was fine with nice fruit and Bali coffee. Kids enjoyed the pool. Stayed as a stopover between airport and boat from Sanur. perfect 👍🏻 as always, beautiful and friendly staff.
The place was a surprise! We did think for the price it wouldn't have been so beautiful but its a little heaven in the middle of a busy sanur.
We loved our stay even if it was just for one night and we wished we had more time in bali to stay again.
We are dog lovers and the hotel actually has the sweetest blind dog, hence the name ♥️ thankyou for a lovely stay!
The amenities at the hotel are impressive as the hotel has a massive footprint and must have been the place to stay in Sanur back in the day. The proximity to the beach and the Sanur beachfront footpath/bike path is delightful not to mention Luhtu cafe just across the road with the nicest apple pie.
Great mid-size hotel right on the beach with an excellent pool for laps or lounging. Excellent value, friendly staff. Spacious ocean view rooms, friendly staff. This place grew on us, we extended our stay twice. Lots of locals, a comfortable place.
The old bali feel to the hotel, excellent and attentive staff. Great location, relaxing pool area and right on the beach with great views.
Felt totally relaxed for our whole stay. Will definitely be back.
Being situated on the beachfront, making a stroll along the walkway very easy and enjoyable. The hotel offered sun lounges on the sand for the guests to enjoy. Breakfast was very good as were the staff.
The pool and garden area were absolutely beautiful. Great place for families! Also, great location right in the downtown area of Sanur. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was delicious!
Great location and lovely staff. We enjoyed the beach bar and the pool. The spa was really good too. The hotel is close to local shops and restaurants in Sanur and right on the beach.
The hotel was not far from the east coast in Sanur. The room was spacious and led out directly to the pool. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were so very friendly.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was right on the beach close to eating and drinking venues. A nice boardwalk to stroll along for an hour or two.
