I enjoyed staying at the hotel on the beach, unfortunately the town and area is undergoing roadworks, and once I was able to navigate round them to the hotel, it didn't effect my stay. There are plenty of places to eat and lots of lovely shops to browse around.

This was not our first visit to Lacanau, we will certainly come again as we really like it. But probably not in the high season, Can be very crowded at weekends and parking is limited. We usually come in the spring or at the tail end of the season, There is a great variety of restaurants from seafood to pizza and which fit all budgets - all within walking distance of eachother. Great beach, surfing clubs. lively at night.

Great location, easy to eat out or self cater, far enough from the centre to not hear the night life as much. Town has plenty of shops and restaurants and night life if you looking for it. We liked the location right on the cycling path that takes you to the beach in 12 minutes and to the lake in 15-20 minutes. The bike rental was for free so it was very easy and the cycling through the pine forests was definitely a highlight of our trip. The breakfast was also good.
