The price was probably the best thing about it because it was a distance from Geneva side but you can take local bus to get there but they’re not that frequent and a bit of a walk to bus stop depending on which bus and when.

Fantastic three nights stay. Reception was really friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed with a nice balcony ( view on the garden) and very quiet. Very close ( direct bus line) to Geneva city center and cheap compared to hotels in Geneva. It is very easy to reach from Geneva Airport by direct bus line. Fast check-in option available!
Strongly recommend this small hotel to those visiting Geneva and do not want to pay much for accommodation!

Ferney-Voltaire's value lies mainly in the fact that it is linked to expensive Geneva: busses go between the two and you can walk across the border. However, the little town also offers excellent bakeries, supermarkets, green spaces and parking. Importantly, there is also easy and regular transport to Geneva airport, though make sure you know how to get to the Swiss side or the French side for departing flights. For solo foot travellers it is a valuable alternative to access Geneva without a car.

Nice location. Quiet at night. Staff were nice. Room was clean and very functional. Breakfast was also great with really good selection. If you rent a car, the parking was suitable. Very nice surroundings and very convenient to go to the city.

Just another cheaper alternative for Geneve on the French side. It's rather suitable to those, who need the airport, for all the rest you better choose Annemasse, which is connected much better with Geneve and has more to provide on its own either.

Currently the area feels like a building site (June 2023). It’s is very dusty at times and the pavement on the walk to the hotel was full of rubble, which wasn’t easy to navigate through with a suitcase on wheels. There is a lot of building work going on just outside the centre of town and it can be noisy for hotel guests

Besides proving more comfort at lower prices than Geneve, the Ferney-Voltaire is always revoking thoughts about life of the great philosopher and poet as well as providing interesting views of the rural France.

Ferney is of course the jumping off point for Geneva.
Ferney is of course the jumping off point for Geneva. The fact is though that it’s got a good selection of groceries, lots of great restaurants, stores, banks, transport etc. it’s also pretty and has a lovely Saturday market with tons of affordable high quality food. The history drew me to Ferney as well, since it’s been hundreds of years of it being where people go to get away from how dull Geneva can be haha.

There is no breakfast but they leave some lovely food in the room instead and you can find places for breakfast just near the hotel. The owner is lovely and the food and wine at the restaurant are delicious! The rooms have a lot of charm and were not too hot under the canicule as long as you keep the blinds close during the day and open the windows at night... Geneva is also very accessible by bus ! You can reach the hotel from airport by bus 66 and you can go to Geneva center by bus F, where the bus stop is very near to hotel. Hotel is in the heart of Ferney, where there are bakery, patisserie, carrefure around it. It is an old building but really perfectly clean! We loved to stay there, strongly recommended! Thank u

It is not worth it because the taxi alone was triple to what the room cost. If you are trying to do an overnight stay near the airport by using public transportation, you are better at doing something that you may pay more, but the commute expenses would be less.
